Championship side Aston Villa have signed Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old becomes Villa’s first signing of the January transfer window and the club’s second player borrowed from Old Trafford following on from Sam Johnstone. The United academy graduate is due at Villa’s Bodymoor Heath training base on Friday to finalize the details of his temporary switch to the Championship promotion-chasers.
Tuanzebe is extremely highly rated by United boss Jose Mourinho and has played eight times across the last two seasons, including four consecutive Premier League starts at the end of the 2016/17 campaign. He made his Champions League debut in December as United beat CSKA Moscow 2-1 at Old Trafford and is expected to compete for a spot in midfield
