UEFA CL: Juve and Tottenham share the spoils

The match kicks off with Juve pressing on towards Tottenham’s goal, resulting in two quick fouls by the visitors.
GOAL!!! Juve capitalise on a snoozing Spurs defense in the second minute. Striker Gonzalo Higuain is left unmanned and the marksman makes the visitors pay with a picturesque volley which finds the back of the net.
Juve continue pressing forward forcing Tottenham to make another defensive error. Left-back Ben Davies trips Bernardeschi in the restricted area. The officials quickly consult and point to the penalty spot.
GOAL!!! Higuain registers a brace in only nine minutes after skillfully netting the penalty to make it 2-0.
Tottenham are now desperately playing catch up but gradually find their footing after tightening up things on the defensive end.
Harry Kane dramatically goes down in the restricted area in the 17th minute after a light challenge from Juve centre-back Medhi Benatia. The ref is, however, hearing none of it and instructs the teams to play on amidst protests form the Englishman.
Harry Kane gets Tottenham’s best chance yet at the 26th minute but the Englishman’s header attempt is met and stopped by the ageless Gianluigi Buffon.
Higuain and Pjanic rush forward on a counter attack after a failed attempt at goal by the Spurs. However, the marksman unluckily misses the target to the dismay of Juve’s fans.
GOAL!!! Harry Kane’s efforts finally pay off in the 35th minute with a skilfull finish around Buffon, which gets the visitors back into the game. Dele Alli gets the credit for the assist. Game on.
Both teams keep the pressure on. Tottenham make another defensive blunder after right-back Serge Aurier brings winger Douglas Costa in the restricted area at the 45th minute.
Higuain shockingly misses the penalty and his second chance at a first-half hat-trick bringing the first half to an end.

The second half kicks off with a flurry of activity from the visitors. Right-back Serge Aurier picks up the yellow card many argue he was spared at the end of the first half after a foolish challenge on Juve left-back Alex Sandro.
It’s quickly becoming a pressing game by the Spurs, which is met by a counter-attack response by the hosts.
Juve win a corner at the 57th minute which is taken by midfielder Miralem Pjanic and met by forward Mario Mandzukic but Hugo Lloris is at hand to deny the effort. Higuain is brought down at the 59th minute and is shown a yellow card for protesting against the referee’s failure to rule in his favour.
Spurs win a free kick at the 67th  minute which is taken by Christian Eriksen and cleared by Higuain.
Sub: Juve take off midfielder Sami Khedira and replace him with Rodrigo Bentacur.
Juve win a free kick which is taken by Pjanic and ends up in the hands of Spurs doorman Hugo Lloris.
GOAL!!! Dele Alli is brought down a few yards from the restricted area. Eriksen skillfully direct the ball to the back of the net. A hush falls over the Juventus stadium and the hosts appear visibly shaken.
Sub: Stefano Sturaro comes on for Mario Mandzukic, who put up a fine performance for Juve on both ends of the pitch.
Tottenham continue to press forward and are now adopting the counter-attack game.
Sub: Heung-Min Son comes on for Dele Alli. Tottenham look to continue their relentless attack.
Winger Douglas Costa makes an impressive solo effort towards the Spurs goal but defender Jan Vertonghen clears the attempt.
Sub: New signing Lucas Moura comes on for Erik Lamela.
Sub: Victor Wanyama comes on or Man of the Match candidate Christian Eriksen.
The match ends with disappointment on the faces of Juve supporters. The advantage goes to the Spurs, who have netted the crucial away goals.
