The January transfer window has already seen a successful swap of players, with Mkhitaryan joining Arsenal from Manchester United and Sanchez going the other way.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal’s signing of BvB’s Aubameyang depends on Chelsea landing Giroud and loaning out Batshuayi to Borussia Dortmund. It is turning out to be a complicated chain of sale, as no club seems to accept losing their striker without securing a replacement. Arsenal is said to have paid £55 million for the Gabon striker and is willing to accept £15m plus add-ons for French man Giroud.
The scramble
Once a deal for Giroud is in place, Chelsea will allow Batshuayi to sign for Dortmund on loan, subsequently triggering Aubameyang’s release to London. Auba recently had problems with the Dortmund hierarchy and was even booed by fans during his recent appearance in the Bundesliga. If signed by Arsenal, he will become the best-paid player in the club’s history on a three-and-a-half-year contract worth £180,000 a week.
The clubs have to agree on the deals before the set January 31st deadline, which is further complicated by a full Premier League programme of fixtures
